Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring individuals to join our Day Nursery team, which forms part of Blackmoor Park Infant School and Kindergarten. This is a full-year position on a 52-week contract, and not a term-time only role, so applicants must be able to work throughout the year, including school holiday periods.
Essential Skills and Qualities:
• A genuine passion for working with young children (ages 0–3) and supporting their development
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• A nurturing, patient, and caring approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Experience and Qualifications:
• A relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working in an early years or nursery setting
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices
• Experience of planning and delivering engaging activities that support children’s learning and development
Desirable:
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Understanding of inclusive practice and supporting children with additional needs
