An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information Advice and Assistance Team for a motivated individual with strong organisational skills and the capability to perform all the functions of the post to comply with legislation and within the policies, aims and guidelines.

The successful candidate will act appropriately upon receiving referrals, including reviewing case notes, other relevant material and liaising with other professional agencies to gather information as advised by the Team Manager before making contact with professionals or members of the public. You will provide accurate information on available options in response to initial enquiries and where necessary arrange for more specialist information to be made available to enquirers.

You will have the ability to remain calm and task focussed whilst working under pressure. You will be able to work with a range of media options, prioritise workload and work on your own initiative. You will be experienced in dealing with the public and empathise with people who may be experiencing stress or anxiety within their life circumstances.

Essential requirements for this role include 3 x GCSE or equivalent, Grade A–C, including English, an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject, experience of dealing with the public in a customer care setting, and a knowledge and understanding of the range of issues that can affect families, children and young people.

Job Summary
Contributing to the efficient operation of the Duty and Referral process for the Information Advice and Assistance (IAA) Team in children’s services in response to enquiries received. To provide an effective service for the management and processing of referrals received from citizens and other agencies. To ensure there is a prompt and appropriate response to contacts in line with the statutory procedures and timescales.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive
pre-employment screening process will be undertaken which will include an Enhanced Disclosure
