Summary
Job Title: Temporary Cleaning Operative
Location: Cherry Burton
Hours: Monday to Friday 15.15-17.45
Pay Rate: £13.10 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (sickness cover)
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out a range of cleaning duties across designated areas of the school, including classrooms, corridors, offices, washrooms, and communal spaces
Ensuring all areas are cleaned to a high standard in accordance with health and safety and hygiene regulations
Safely using cleaning equipment and materials as provided
Acting as a key holder, including unlocking and securing the premises as required
Working independently (lone working) while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail
Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures
Essential Requirements:
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (must be current)
Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively
Strong sense of responsibility and trustworthiness, particularly in a key holder capacity
Good understanding of cleaning practices and health & safety procedures
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience in a cleaning role, ideally within a school or similar environment
Familiarity with COSHH regulations and safe handling of cleaning chemicals

This role involves lone working and requires a high level of integrity
