About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and conscientious Nursery Cleaner to join our team in a job share position. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for children, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will work independently during evening hours to ensure the nursery is ready for the next day.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Clean and sanitise all nursery rooms, including play areas, sleep rooms, and communal spaces
* Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
* Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and nappy-changing areas
* Wipe down surfaces, tables, chairs, and equipment
* Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
* Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies as needed
* Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard within the allocated time
* Follow health and safety and infection control procedures at all times
**Lone Working:**
This role involves lone working during evening hours. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, managing their time effectively, and ensuring the premises are secure at the end of each shift (e.g. locking doors, setting alarms if required).
**Responsibilities & Expectations:**
* Take ownership of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
* Be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
* Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly
* Adhere to safeguarding and confidentiality policies
* Use cleaning products safely and in accordance with COSHH guidelines
**Requirements:**
* Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong attention to detail
* Good time management skills
* Understanding of health and safety practices
