About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Communication Support Worker (CSW) to join a supportive college in Stockport from September 2026. This full-time agency role offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with hearing impairments and communication needs, in a post-16 education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide communication support for students with hearing impairments and other communication needs within the classroom
- Use British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication methods to facilitate learning (where required)
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and fully participating in lessons
- Work closely with teaching staff and SEN teams to implement individual support plans
- Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion for all learners
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working as a Communication Support Worker or supporting students with SEN
- BSL qualification (Level 2 or above preferred) or strong communication support experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Passion for supporting young people in an educational setting
