The RoleThis position is ideal for an experienced RVN seeking progression into senior nursing leadership while maintaining hands-on clinical responsibilities. You will work closely with veterinary surgeons and the nursing leadership team to ensure exceptional clinical standards, excellent patient care, and a positive working environment.
The role combines clinical nursing with leadership responsibilities, supporting team development and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Support
- Lead, mentor and support members of the nursing team
- Assist with rota coordination and daily workflow management
- Promote a collaborative and supportive team culture
- Act as a key point of contact within the clinical team
Clinical Duties
- Remain actively involved in surgical, inpatient and consult nursing
- Maintain high standards of patient care and client communication
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and best practice standards
- Support accreditations and RCVS Practice Standards Scheme compliance
Training & Development
- Support student veterinary nurse training and development
- Encourage utilisation of full RVN skill sets
- Contribute to clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Operational Responsibilities
- Assist with stock control and equipment maintenance
- Support implementation and review of practice policies and procedures
