Summary
Act as An effective role model to colleagues, in the delivery of nursing care.Ensure that the care given reflects the hospital and department philosophies standards and protocols.To liaise with clinicians and staff both in the department and in other areas of the hospital so that standards and activity can be co-ordinated to achieve the best possible service for patients and evaluate of the effectiveness of patient care and to ensure that patient records are maintained to the highest possible standard.Participate in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, thus providing high standard of patient care at all times.Promote a healthy, positive and safe environment for patients and staff.Ensure that nursing practise reflects current clinical development and is based on sound evidence. Provide skilled assistance in all areas of interventional radiology Participate in the on-call service for out of hours emergency interventional radiology.Facilitate stock control and procurement of specialist consumables and ensure that all necessary material resources are available for procedures.Meet clinical objectives as agreed separately with the lead radiology nurse and superintendent radiographerPeople/Management ExcellenceBe aware of the budgetary requirement within their clinical areas of nursing.Collate monthly data as required for departmental audit.To participate in regular staff and directorate meetings.Encourage good health & wellbeing and morale, with open communication between alldisciplines of staff.Assist the superintendent radiographer to create and maintain positive working relationships within the multi-disciplinary team.Act as a chance agent to promote innovation and high standards of practice.Help to develop methods at unit level to monitor standards of care in liaison with the Unit manager.
