Summary
The post holder will initially work under supervision to assess, plan implement and evaluate care, developing competency in advanced management techniques. Furthermore, the post holder will have to undertake a two-day course in the management of Lymphoedema with Lymphoedema Training academy, if they have not attended an accredited Lymphoedema course. Once all required competencies, training modules, clinical experience and demonstration of autonomous practice are achieved the post holder will then be expected to practice autonomously as a band 6 Specialist Lymphoedema Practitioner. The post holder will provide specialist advice, education and support to other health care professionals and patients and undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area. They will diagnose and independently prescribe for patients with lymphoedema.
