Summary

The R&D Department at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTFT) is one of the focal points for innovative research in London through its nationally recognised research portfolio and research infrastructure. The broad ranging research portfolio includes our academic partner King’s College London, numerous NIHR Programme and Project Grants, as well as a Research Scheme for academic consultants. In addition, the Trust is a stakeholder in the accredited Academic Health Sciences Centre, King’s Health Partners and the KHP Clinical Trials Office.

The R&D department at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting a Research Data Manager to join the non-commercial R&D Performance team.

The post-holder will work with the R&D governance team, study delivery teams, and the South London Research Delivery Network team to ensure that performance data is captured and available for reporting purposes.

The post-holder will be responsible for using and maintaining databases & dashboards to support the reporting and presentation of all research metrics that capture performance across R&D. These databases & dashboards will allow for queries, reports and data retrieval to be performed in an efficient manner.

The individual will need to keep up to date with the national performance metrics, including the 150-day target and the RDN funding model, and adapt reports & data fields accordingly.

The selected candidate must work well within a team, whilst being able to work autonomously and manage their time productively. You will have an organised and methodical approach to your work with exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills and enjoy liaising with colleagues and staff at all levels.

We have a large research workforce across the Trust including a range of technical experts, researchers, research support staff, research nurses, research delivery staff and administrative staff. Based in offices within the Tower Wing at Guy’s Hospital, we are co-located with the South London RDN and Clinical Trials Office, creating a dynamic, lively and diverse research department. The department has the breadth of knowledge and skills to ensure that this high level of research activity and associated research processes are managed smoothly, efficiently and collaboratively.

This is primarily an office-based role at Guy's Hospital, and some working from home (2-days) will be considered following a 3-month training period. Other flexible working will be considered i.e. compressed hours.

Key Expectations:

•Maintain data quality in the EDGE research management system, ensuring that required recruitment data can flow between CPMS and EDGE.

•Integrate and analyse content from multiple data sources to provide timely information for internal decision making.

•Creation and submission of internal and external reports, responding to needs of clinical directorates and R&D directors.
