Summary
About the role
The Group Reporting Manager will support the Internal Reporting Senior Manager in delivering the Group's monthly consolidated results, internal reporting, and a range of accounting-related matters. The role will also contribute significantly to ad‑hoc projects across the Group, including process and control improvements and M&A activity.
This position sits within the Group Finance team, which is responsible for internal and external reporting, tax compliance, treasury management, and maintaining the Group's accounting policies and financial control environment.
Main Responsibilities
Monthly Reporting & Consolidation
-Assist with the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements.
-Review divisional results and act as a key contact for divisional finance teams on reporting and consolidation queries.
-Ensure compliance with the Group Finance Risk and Controls Matrix, including monthly review of divisional balance sheet reconciliations.
IFRS 16 Lease Accounting
-Own and maintain the Group's IFRS 16 lease accounting database and calculation models.
-Review lease contracts to determine IFRS 16 treatment and process monthly accounting entries.
-Prepare IFRS 16 disclosures for Group and subsidiary statutory accounts.
-Manage the IFRS 16 audit process.
-Support budgeting and forecasting for lease liabilities and right‑of‑use assets.
External Reporting (Half-Year & Year-End)
-Prepare allocated sections of the Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Financial Statements.
-Manage the external audit process for assigned areas.
-Work closely with Investor Relations to ensure factual accuracy of external publications.
Process Improvement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
-Support enhancements to balance sheet reconciliation processes.
-Contribute to improvements in accounting and consolidation processes.
-Assist with ad‑hoc projects, including integrating reporting for newly acquired entities.
Statutory Reporting
-Support the Senior Statutory Reporting Manager in reviewing subsidiary financial statements.
Technical Accounting Support
-Assist with Group-level accounting matters, including acquisition accounting and valuation of acquired intangibles through business combinations.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
-Qualified chartered accountant with at least 3 years' PQE.
-Trained with a Big 4 accountancy firm or similar.
-Strong technical accounting skills, including:
-Working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 16.
-Experience applying technical standards in both group consolidation and subsidiary financial statements.
Skills & Attributes
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Strong analytical capability with the ability to provide insight alongside accurate reporting.
-Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to deliver high‑quality work to tight deadlines.
-Effective team player.
-Strong IT skills, especially Excel.
-Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management is an advantage.
