Summary

BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for the transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. We also recruit for Social Care and Public Sector roles.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Family Support Worker to work for our client in Liverpool and surrounding areas.

Role Purpose:

To provide high-quality, targeted outreach and home-based support to children, young people (0–25*) and their families using a whole family approach, preventing escalation to statutory services and improving outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of Family Support Worker:

•Hold and manage cases for children and families with multiple needs, including those stepping down from or transitioning to social care

•Complete Family Help Assessments and lead Team Around the Family (TAF) plans as Lead Professional

•Assess family strengths and needs, coordinating multi-agency support and reviewing progress against outcomes

•Build strong relationships with families, ensuring their views are heard and reflected in plans

•Manage challenging situations using de-escalation techniques and respond to safeguarding concerns and crises

•Maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, attend meetings and supervision, and contribute to service development

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Requirements of Family Support Worker:

•Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families with complex needs

•Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and early help frameworks

•Ability to assess needs, develop plans, and deliver outcome-focused interventions

•Effective communication and engagement skills with families and professionals

•Experience of multi-agency working and coordinating support services

•Relevant qualification in social care, youth work, education, or equivalent experience
