Summary
We are looking for a highly organised and detail focused Data Project Officer to support a project to ensure that information held within HR is prepared for Local Government Reorganisation.
You will play a central part in reviewing our HR records to ensure compliance with the retention schedule.
If you enjoy working systematically, have strong attention to detail, and are confident handling sensitive information, this role offers a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Reviewing, organising and categorising HR records across both physical files and digital systems.
• Applying retention schedules and supporting compliant disposal of information.
• Supporting the build, testing and roll out of a new document management system.
• Providing updates on progress, risks and milestones.
• Working collaboratively with IT, Information Governance and external suppliers to support secure, compliant data handling.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed term contract for 12 months. The role offers hybrid working, with a mix of home working and required attendance at both the Maidstone and Swale offices.
About You:
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital filing systems.
• Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Clear communicator with a systematic, methodical approach.
• Knowledge of GDPR/retention rules (or interest in learning).
