The Freight and Borders Directorate leads work to strengthen the UK’s freight system and ensure effective border operations, supporting economic stability and resilient supply chains. We collaborate across government and industry, shaping domestic and international arrangements, including UK‑EU activity. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
Leading the Directorate Business Management Unit.Working with the Freight and Borders (FAB) Director and Senior Management Team (SMT) team to proactively support the functions of the SMT and make FAB a great place to work.Delivering clear and consistent corporate products representing FAB.Supporting directorate wide business planning.Leading the Business Support Team of three to manage core business functions and ensure the smooth running of the directorate.Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
