Looking for a hands-on role where you can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact? This is a great opportunity to join
a busy yard team during an exciting period of change as we transition to Lords Timber Huntingdon.
We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join us on a temporary basis from 1st May to 1st October. You’ll play a
key role in keeping the yard operating safely and efficiently, supporting customers, suppliers and colleagues every day.
The Role
As a Forklift Truck Driver, you’ll be at the heart of the operation—keeping stock moving, supporting customers, and maintaining
high standards across the yard. Your responsibilities will include:
* Safely operating a forklift to pick, load and unload vehicles
* Assisting customers, suppliers and delivery drivers on site
* Picking orders manually and handling heavy materials where required
* Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe at all times
* Managing stock rotation and highlighting shortages or issues
* Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery and reporting any defects or H&S concerns
* Working closely with the wider yard team to maintain an efficient operation
About You
* Valid forklift licence with proven experience
* Background in a timber or builders’ merchant environment
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
* Clear communicator with good attention to detail
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
* Eligible to work in the UK
The Details
* Location: Huntingdon (Lords Timber Huntingdon)
* Contract: Temporary (1st May – 1st October)
* Salary: Competitive
* Hours: 7am–5pm Monday to Friday, 8am–12pm alternate Saturdays
* Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays (pro rata)
* Benefits: Discretionary bonus scheme
