Job Title: FLT Driver
Salary: £14.85 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Your role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced FLT Driver to join our Manufacturing team at our Upwood, Peterborough site.
This role is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a counterbalance forklift truck to move raw materials
and finished goods across site. This includes loading and unloading vehicles, supplying production areas, and supporting kiln
operations where required. All FLT activities must be carried out in line with Standard Operating Procedures and site Health &
Safety guidelines.
You will be responsible for completing daily pre-use checks, reporting any defects, and ensuring that materials such as timber,
pallets, and packaging are readily available to support production and maintain customer quality standards.
In addition to your FLT duties, you will support the wider manufacturing operation as a General Operative. This includes assisting
in the production and repair of pallets and wood products using the appropriate tools and machinery, ensuring all work is
completed to the required specifications and output levels. You may also be involved in tasks such as painting, labelling, and
stencilling pallets, offloading timber from saws, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
This is a multi-skilled role requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to support operational needs across the site.
As an experienced FLT Driver, you will hold a valid counterbalance FLT licence, demonstrate a high level of Health & Safety
awareness, and have excellent attention to detail. A positive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills are essential,
along with the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
Training Requirement:
Successful candidates will be required to attend an initial training period of up to two weeks, delivered Monday to Friday, at an
alternative site. This is a great opportunity to gain a full understanding of our processes and set you up for success in the
role.
