Summary
FINTEC recruit is seeking 2 experienced Production Shift Leaders, working a fixed Monday to Friday shift (14:00 – 23:00) within a manufacturing/production environment in the Nottingham area.
This is a permanent position, offering a stable shift pattern and opportunity to develop within a growing organisation.
The primary function of the Production Shift Leader is to safely lead and coordinate a small team to deliver planned production outputs to the required quality, safety, and cost standards. The role combines hands-on production with front-line supervision, including resource allocation, machine setup/operation oversight, real-time problem solving, and accurate data logging for full traceability.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a small production team during a fixed Monday–Friday shift (14:00–23:00)
Deliver production targets across output, quality, and efficiency
Plan and allocate resources including labour, machinery, and materials in line with production schedules
Oversee machine setups, changeovers, and initial quality checks
Provide on-the-job coaching, toolbox talks, and ensure adherence to SOPs and work instructions
Monitor team performance and behaviour, addressing issues and escalating where necessary
Act as site responsible person/keyholder when required, ensuring safety, security, and compliance
Take immediate action on unsafe conditions, including stopping work and coordinating incident response
Maintain site controls including lone working procedures, contractor management, and permit-to-work systems
Skills & Experience:
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Minimum 12 months’ experience within a production, warehouse, or similar environment
Previous team leading or supervisory experience (or stepping up into a leadership role) desirable
Mechanically minded with the ability to carry out basic adjustments, part changes, and interpret machine faults/alarms
Confident using measurement tools and working to tolerances
Basic IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) with accurate data entry capability
Understanding of safe machine operation, quality standards, and basic problem-solving techniques
Essential:
Valid counterbalance forklift license
Desirable:
Counterbalance FLT or powered industrial truck licence
Awareness of LOTO procedures (or willingness to train)
First Aid / Fire Marshal training (or willingness to train)
