Summary

PMLD Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School (Bolton)

Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? We are working with a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Bolton seeking a dedicated individual to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with complex needs, supporting them both academically and personally within a specialist setting.

The Role:
- Supporting secondary-aged pupils with PMLD in a specialist SEN school
- Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual EHCPs
- Assisting with personal care and promoting dignity and independence
- Supporting students with sensory needs, including use of sensory rooms and specialist equipment
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver a holistic approach to learning
- Encouraging engagement through multi-sensory activities and communication methods (PECS, sensory play)

The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SLD, or complex needs
- Comfortable with personal care responsibilities
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing with a proactive approach
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and working within SEN settings
- A team player who can build strong relationships with staff and pupils
- A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
