GI Group UK is recruiting for a QC Technician on behalf of our client in Warrington. This is an onsite, 12-month contract. The role includes hands-on QC testing, routine lab duties and support tasks. PCR experience is desirable but not essential - training can be provided.

QC Technician working hours:

  • 37.5 per week
  • Mon-Thu 07:15-16:00
  • Fri 07:15-11:45
  • Overtime available

QC Technician key responsibilities:

  • Perform quality control testing of intermediate and finished goods following SOPs.
  • Review batch QC documentation for bulk, intermediate and finished goods tests.
  • Carry out instrument calibrations and maintain calibration schedules; train others once competent.
  • Contribute to process improvements, development projects and resolution of quality issues.
  • Support laboratory housekeeping: 1 hour cleaning on Monday and 1 hour on Thursday (team rota).
  • Maintain and restock laboratory consumables required for manufacturing.
  • Train colleagues to the appropriate level and keep training records up to date.

QC Technician minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant life sciences discipline OR equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of PCR is desirable but not essential (training available).
  • Strong attention to detail, good record-keeping, ability to follow SOPs and work as part of a team.
