Summary

The Best Connection are recruiting for an experienced Production Operative to join a well-established manufacturing team specialising in high‑performance industrial coatings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating manufacturing machinery including high‑speed dispersers (HSDs), bead mills, pumps, and related production equipment
  • Producing coatings to precise formulas, specifications, and deadlines
  • Handling hazardous and non‑hazardous raw materials safely
  • Following detailed production instructions and submitting samples for quality control checks
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with Health & Safety guidelines
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders
  • Supporting stock control processes and taking part in inventory checks
  • Reporting equipment faults and contributing to continuous improvement across the department

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment (essential)
  • A stable employment history with consistent, non‑frequent job changes
  • Comfortable operating machinery and handling raw materials
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical working approach
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
  • GCSEs in Maths, Science, or a Technology-based subject
  • Must be physically fit, able to lift materials, and stand for the duration of the shift
  • Must live within a 25‑minute commute of the site

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using forklifts, pallet trucks, or other material‑handling equipment
  • Knowledge of mixing/blending within batch production environments
  • Background in coatings, paints, chemicals, or similar industries
  • Competency in weighing and handling powdered raw materials

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:30. Friday 07:00-14:30. Overtime will be available throughout the year at x1.5 rate of pay.

Pay Rate:

  • Pay starts at NLW with possibility for increase in the future.
