We are currently seeking to appoint a resilient and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with challenging behaviour at a school in Warrington. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong behaviour management skills and experience working with children who require additional support to engage in learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide dedicated 1:1 and general classroom support to pupils displaying challenging behaviour
• Assist the class teacher with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
• Implement behaviour management strategies and support de-escalation techniques
• Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting back to teachers and SENCOs
• Encourage pupils’ engagement, independence, and positive participation in lessons
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
• Maintain a calm and consistent approach to behaviour management
Candidate Requirements:
• Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3) – desirable but not essential
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Recent experience working with children within the last 2 years
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs is highly desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Two professional references relating to work with children
• A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
