An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join a highly rated primary school situated in Runcorn. This school is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to become a part of their team. This role will be within an outstanding school who prides themselves on high standards, self-discipline and excellent attitudes towards learning.

Your new role

As a Teaching Assistant your main role will be to support the classroom teacher with the delivery of lessons, both inside and outside the classroom, whilst also supporting the pupil's wellbeing. One of the main aspects of this role will be to create an environment and curriculum where children's minds are challenged, engaged and excited. In this role you will play a massive part in the development and success of the children in your care. You will be supporting the teacher raise attainment through specialist intervention programmes and small group work within Maths and English. The role may also require 1:1 guided reading and targeted interventions with pupils with low attainment to help close the gap between them and their peers.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful with your application you will need:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, ideal but not essential.
  • You will need to have experience of working with children within the last 2 years.
  • You should feel confident working with children in small groups or in a 1:1 setting.
  • You should have a mature and professional attitude towards work.
  • You will need to be able to communicate comfortably with teachers, parents and pupils.
