About the Role

Lead a specialist Exit from Care team to safely and sustainably reduce the number of children in care by delivering high‑quality reunification to parents and progressing Special Guardianship Orders (SGOs) and other permanence pathways. You will provide reflective leadership, ensure robust care planning and risk management, and drive excellent multi‑agency practice so children achieve permanence at the earliest safe opportunity.

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Social Work degree (or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England. Evidence of continuing professional development; advanced/management qualifications desirable (e.g., Practice Educator, leadership programme).
  • To drive the reunification strategy for the children in care service, champion improved outcomes for children and young people in Leicestershire as part of the operational management structure of children social care.
  • To ensure that children and families receive high-quality coordinated services which meet their needs and keep children safe.
  • To work with partner agencies in a coordinated and integrated approach wherever possible to achieve good outcomes for children and families
  • To provide management accountability to front-line social work services
  • To work in a needs-led service, understanding the impact of financial decision-making.
  • To understand the impact of Equality and Diversity for children, young people and staff.
