Summary


Lead Health Information Specialist – Urgent Care

We are seeking an exceptional analytical leader to join our Health Information Services team. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence decision-making at every level of the organisation by transforming complex health data into meaningful insight that drives service improvement and enhances patient care.

As a senior member of the department, you will lead the Urgent Care information function with confidence and autonomy, providing expert guidance across urgent and emergency care, maternity and endoscopy reporting. You will play a central role in shaping how data is captured, interpreted and applied within our Electronic Patient Record, ensuring clinicians and operational teams have access to accurate, timely and actionable intelligence.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership capability. You will be instrumental in shaping how data supports high-quality care, making a tangible impact across the Trust and wider health system.

Analytical & Technical Leadership
• Interpret and resolve highly complex healthcare data challenges with precision and clarity
• Present sensitive or intricate findings in a clear, engaging and accessible way
• Translate advanced analytical and statistical concepts into practical insight for non-specialist audiences
• Design and deliver high-quality reports, dashboards and intelligence products
• Collaborate with system partners to enhance data alignment and shared understanding

Service Improvement & Quality
• Provide trusted expert advice to both strategic and operational stakeholders
• Lead initiatives to enhance the quality, consistency and usability of data within the Electronic Patient Record
• Empower clinical and operational teams by building data literacy through training and ongoing support
• Contribute to service redesign and the development of forward-thinking policies
• Uphold the highest standards in data governance, methodology and analytical practice

Leadership & Management
• Lead, motivate and develop the Urgent Care information team, fostering a culture of excellence
• Support senior leadership in delivering continuous improvement across analytics services
• Manage a diverse portfolio of complex workstreams, ensuring priorities are met effectively
• Set clear expectations and provide guidance on analytical standards and best practice
