Zest Education is proud to be supporting an excellent specialist school in Islington that caters for pupils aged 13-19 with Autism. As the school continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant - to work with a pupil who has Autism and displays challenging behaviour.
What the role involves
- Working 1:1 with a child who has challenging behaviour
- Working within small classes of 6-10 students
- Providing tailored support
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
- Use de-escalation techniques to prevent or reduce incidents
- Assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation and social development
- Collaborating with teachers and therapists to create a positive, structured learning environment
