Summary

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND to help them access the curriculum

  
  

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans

  
  

• Adapt learning activities to suit the pupil’s needs and learning style

  
  

• Support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development

  
  

• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in classroom activities

  
  

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

    • Experience working with children with SEND (in a school, nursery, or care setting)

    • An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education
