Summary
Cover Supervisor - Salisbury
Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and motivated Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Salisbury. You'll step into lessons when teachers are unavailable, guide students through the planned work, and help maintain a positive, productive learning environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, mentors, youth‑work practitioners, or anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants meaningful classroom experience. Work can be full‑time, part‑time, or ad‑hoc, offering full flexibility.
The Role:
- Deliver and oversee pre‑set lesson content
- Supervise classes across a range of subjects (no planning needed)
- Encourage students to stay focused and complete work
- Manage classroom behaviour following school policies
- Support students with questions and engagement
- Work across KS3 & KS4 depending on daily needs
- Provide reliable support through short‑notice and pre‑booked cover
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, etc.)
- Confident leading a classroom and engaging groups
- Strong communicator with good organisational skills
- Calm, adaptable, and able to handle varied subjects
- Positive role model with a proactive mindset
- Graduates or aspiring teachers strongly encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
- Position: Cover Supervisor
- Location: Salisbury
- Start: ASAP
- Work Pattern: Full‑time, part‑time, or day‑to‑day
- Pay: Up to £130 per day
- Year Groups: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Experience working with young people essential
- Classroom experience or behaviour‑support experience advantageous
- Safeguarding training can be provided
Eligibility:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Two relevant references
