Summary

Job Title: Data Administrator (Academic Registry)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.20pm

GI Group are now seeking a proactive Data Administrator for our Public Sector client to join their Management Information Team.

Supporting high-quality data analysis, prepare statutory returns for bodies such as SLC, OfS, and HESA, manage Freedom of Information requests, and help maintain and improve student records data quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in preparing statutory data returns and reviewing data for accuracy.
  • Maintain external databases and liaise with statutory bodies (SLC, UNISTATS).
  • Use data management software (SAMIS/SITS, Business Objects, Excel, TOPdesk) for operational tasks and reporting.
  • Act as the first point of contact for ad-hoc data requests and FOI responses.
  • Support the provision and formatting of datasets for internal committees (Senate, Council).
  • Manage data published on internal and external University webpages, including enrolment reporting.
  • Provide administrative support for data-focused working groups and committees.
  • Develop an understanding of dataflows across university systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Offer ad-hoc support to colleagues as needed.

PERSON SPECIFICIATION:

  • Strong data management and analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and experience in database systems (SITS/SAMIS, Business Objects).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Effective communicator with strong organisational skills.
  • Experience handling confidential information is advantageous.
