Long Term Futures are seeking a resilient and proactive Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to work on a full time long term temporary basis. This role is perfect for those wishing to start their career in the Speech and Language setting, or progress into SaLT or Educational Psychology.
You will work with small groups of children with additional needs, supporting early communication, language development and engagement with learning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in Early Years, understands the importance of communication development, and is confident supporting children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
About the Role:
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and SLT your duties will include:
* Helping support students with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
* Providing targeted interventions to students with ASD and other related communication needs
* Supporting students from all year groups with their journey
* Small group based work and 1:1 support
* Ensuring the pupils are safe and secure at all times
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous
* A creative approach to learning and the flexibility to adapt activities and strategies to meet the diverse needs of children
* Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or willingness to learn
* Reliable and committed to a long-term placement
