Summary

Youth Worker - Full-Time (Alternative Provision, Liverpool)

Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a fresh start in education? Do you have the confidence and compassion to build meaningful relationships and help students overcome barriers to learning?

We are looking for a full-time Youth Worker to join a dedicated team at an alternative provision school in Liverpool. The setting supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have struggled in mainstream education. Your role will be crucial in helping them re-engage with learning, build self-esteem, and develop the skills needed to progress confidently in life and education.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage students through mentoring, sports, creative activities, and positive interactions
- Act as a trusted adult and role model, helping students feel safe, respected, and supported
- Encourage participation in learning through inclusive, flexible, and personalised approaches
- Provide consistent support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a structured and nurturing environment

About You:
- Background in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or a similar support-focused role
- Experience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), SEN, or behavioural needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young people
- Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a genuine desire to help students succeed
- Confident in handling challenging behaviour and offering emotional and pastoral support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
