Primary Duties of the Position

As the Senior Installations and Logistics Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for all installation and logistics matters on-site. You will be responsible for promptly and accurately reporting any facility or logistical issues, planned or unplanned, that could negatively impact operations or personnel to leadership from the Facilities Control Centre. Overseeing the Facilities Infrastructure Operations and the Operations & Maintenance Facilities Control Centre, you will ensure compliance with all regulations and meet customer needs. You will also establish and implement requirements for operations and maintenance activities, aligning them with organizational goals and mission requirements, while managing project programming. Furthermore, you will represent Base Operations at various levels, including installation, Wing, Higher Headquarters, and other relevant organizations.

This position is only available to UK Nationals. Applicants must hold UK citizenship and have lived in the UK for at least 8 years out of the last 10 years for this position.

Qualifications & Key Skills required for this role

A degree in an appropriate scientific field plus one year of specialized experience as per the required key skills, or
HND/City and Guilds/ NVQ Level 5/6 in an appropriate scientific field. Progressively more years of specialized experience (as outlined in the key skills) are required for qualifications below degree level.

1. Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment, as well as knowledge of standard construction and contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and of the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting Systems.
3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources; and to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including federal and local government, and industry.
6. Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and engineering technologies and incorporating into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of installation natural/built infrastructure.

A valid UK driver's license (Category B) is required.

Conditions of employment for this role
1. You will be required to obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance, and handle sensitive information in accordance with US and UK laws. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
4. Your hours of work will be 168 hours over a four-week period on a rotating schedule (where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies). The work pattern is a rotating 12-hour shift (as rostered) which will cover both a day and night shift pattern. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing; however, positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.
