Summary
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Cluster Financial Controller based in Cardiff, overseeing financial operations across two hotel properties.
The Cluster Financial Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial performance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning across both sites.
The role involves working closely with General Managers and senior leadership teams to provide financial insight, control costs, and drive profitability. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, while ensuring robust financial controls and procedures are in place.
This position plays a key role in supporting business decisions and maintaining the financial health of both properties.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all financial operations across both hotel properties
• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Monitor revenue, costs, and profitability, providing insights to senior management
• Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with company policies and regulations
• Manage cash flow, banking, and financial reconciliations
• Oversee payroll processes in collaboration with HR where required
• Support audits and ensure accurate financial record-keeping
• Work closely with department heads to control costs and improve financial performance
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within hospitality or multi-site operations
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Experience managing multi-site or cluster financial operations is highly desirable
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to influence and support non-financial managers
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of UK financial regulations and compliance
