Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The school wishes to appoint an Assistant Headteacher with a particular focus on promoting high-quality Teaching and Learning within the school. The core purpose of the role is to provide vision, strategic direction and leadership for Teaching and Learning with a focus on ensuring Quality First Teaching (QFT) for all students in lessons. As well as leading on designated whole school areas of responsibility, including whole school teaching development, staff CPD, new staff induction, oversight of ECTS and ITTs, and quality assure both teaching and the curriculum, as well as leading on department reviews.
The successful candidate will be quick-thinking, articulate, and a creative leader.

The Leadership Team currently consists of the Headteacher, one Deputy Headteacher who is the DSL, five Assistant Headteachers and the School Business Manager. All teaching members of the Leadership Team are DSL trained. An Extended Leadership Team also works closely with the members of the Leadership Team.
The post is exempt from section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (2013 and 2020)). It is not, therefore, in any way contrary to the Act to reveal any information concerning convictions which would otherwise be considered as “spent” in relation to the applicant’s suitability for employment. Any such information will be kept in strict confidence and only used in consideration of the suitability of the applicant for such a position where such an exemption is appropriate.
