Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive school in Wolverhampton on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident and proactive individual to support teaching and learning across the classroom, helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of lessons across a range of subjects

  • Lead whole-class teaching sessions in the absence of the class teacher

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to provide targeted support

  • Assist in assessing pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN, where required

  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Prepare learning materials and classroom resources

  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold school policies

Requirements
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience working in a school setting (primary or secondary)

  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum

  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including SEN

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
