Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with an interest and experience in neurology to join the Tower Hamlets Community Neuro Team (THCNT). You will be part of a large, friendly and successful multidisciplinary team, based at Mile End Hospital, delivering neurological rehabilitation and disability management to patients in their own homes or in our neuro gym / clinic room on-site.
You will beresponsible for assessing and providing intervention to people with a range of neurological conditions, some life limiting, determining neurological and functional deficits and the treatment program required.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for neurological Occupational Therapy, excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, and with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a wider MDT.
Within Bart’s, we offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete quality improvement and audit projects and we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists. You will have the opportunity to develop your own supervisory skills through supporting and supervising students and/or rehabilitation support workers.
To provide specialist assessment and intervention to clients with neurological conditions, determining neurological impairment, activity limitation and participation / role restrictions and develop the occupational therapy treatment program required.
To work in an integrated way with inter team colleagues and external agencies spanning acute, primary care, community health services and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
To participate in the continued service development of the Tower Hamlets Community Neuro Team (THCNT).
