Summary

Job Summary As a Salaried GP at Debenham, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad range of clinical presentations within a primary care setting. You will manage your own caseload and work as part of a wider clinical team, contributing to the safe, effective and consistent delivery of care for all registered and temporary patients. Clinical Responsibilities: Working alongside colleagues, you will take part in the full range of duties expected of a GP. This includes: Undertaking surgery consultations (face-to-face), telephone and online consultation Carrying out home visits where clinically appropriat Participating in the practice duty/on-call syste Reviewing, managing and actioning clinical workflow, including pathology results, correspondence and prescription Managing a fair share of incoming workload, including documents, queries and administrative tasks You will also: Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions in relation to presenting problem Assess and manage patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed condition Identify risk factors and early signs of illnes Develop and agree care plans with patients, in line with best practice and clinical guidanc Provide appropriate health education and preventative care Admit, discharge and refer patients to other services as appropriate Clinical Governance and Quality You will be expected to: Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records Prescribe safely and in line with local and national guidance Contribute to QOF, DES/LES and other contractual or locally commissioned requirements Support data collection, audit and quality improvement activity where appropriate Duty GP Responsibilities When undertaking the duty role, you will: Provide clinical oversight of incoming demand Support the safe triage and allocation of workload, working with the wider team Respond to urgent patient requests and manage same-day clinical need Support colleagues with clinical queries where required Help ensure the smooth and safe running of the practice on the day Working as part of the team You will: Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues Contribute to a team-based approach to managing workload and patient demand Support a working environment that is safe, respectful and focused on patient care As a training practice, there may also be opportunities to support GP trainees or other learners, depending on experience and interest. Professional responsibilities As part of the role, you will: Work in line with GMC standards and the responsibilities of a GP within NHS primary care Undertake the full range of duties associated with general practice Work in accordance with practice policies and procedures, including those relating to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and CQC requirements Maintain accurate, clear and up-to-date patient records, including appropriate coding of clinical information Use practice IT systems in line with agreed policies and standards Maintain a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including participation in audit and reflective practice Contribute to audit, quality improvement and the ongoing development of clinical standards within the practice Attend training, meetings and events as required Contribute positively to the wider team and to the ongoing development of the practice Confidentiality and information governance You will have access to confidential information relating to patients, colleagues and the wider organisation. All such information must be treated as strictly confidential and handled in line with Suffolk Primary Care policies, data protection legislation (including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), and professional standards. Information may only be shared with authorised individuals where it is appropriate and necessary to do so in the course of your role. You are expected to: Maintain patient confidentiality at all times Ensure information is recorded, stored and shared appropriately Follow all information governance and data security policies Support the organisation in meeting its obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 where required
