Technical Operations Coordinator

Allstaff are proud to be working in partnership with a growing engineering and asset management business based in Paisley.

Working with Blue Chip companies across the UK, our client delivers specialist engineering and project services within industrial and hazardous environments. Now in their second year as an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT) business, they are entering an exciting phase of growth and long-term succession planning.

This is a key appointment within the business, offering a clear progression route towards Operations Director within approximately five years.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position combining operational management, technical delivery and customer relationship management.

You will work closely with the MD to oversee daily operations, manage project delivery and support the ongoing growth of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing day-to-day workload, priorities and project delivery
Leading and supporting a small technical team
Acting as a key point of contact for established customers
Managing enquiries, estimating and costing work
Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to client expectations, whilst attaining the high service levels demanded by the business
Contributing to and leading technical project work
Undertaking UK-wide site visits as required (typically 1–2 per month, 1–3 days duration – expenses covered)
This role is office based near Paisley town centre, working 37.5 hours per week with core hours of 9am–3pm and flexibility around project demands.

About You

You must come from a strong engineering background, ideally within industrial and/or hazardous environments.

You will have:

Experience managing a small technical team
Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
Confidence managing relationships with key customers
A practical, hands-on approach
A collaborative and approachable leadership style
A full UK driving licence
Knowledge of pipes, pumps, tanks, P&IDs, DSEAR, Hazardous Area Classification, HAZOPs and COMAH would be advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor degree preferred but not essential
12–24 months’ relevant engineering experience preferred
Experience can be accepted in place of education: true
