Summary

Morson Edge are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Spray Bay Technician to be based out of RNAS Yeovilton on a permanent basis.


JOB PURPOSE
- Working within the WMS Support Services organisation based at RNAS Yeovilton as a Spray Bay Surface Finish Technician. Carrying out tasks which involve providing support in the removal, preparation, and application of all aspects of paint and other surface finishes on various assets and equipment, to meet customer requirements.



MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

- Act as Spray Bay Surface Finish Technician, under supervision of the Spray Bay Surface Finish Supervising staff and hold authorisations as required by Wildcat Maintenance Support (WMS) including 1st Signature within own trade group, as detailed in WMS operating Procedure (OP) 1103, and IAW individual Record of Engineering Authorisations.

- Ensure appropriate RPE and PPE is worn when necessary and adhere to all relevant COSHH regulations IAW WMS OP1213.

- Carry out tasking as required under supervision of Spray Bay Surface Finish Supervisors.

- Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the Spray Bay IAW WMS OP 1701.

- Display awareness of all hazardous work processes and substances, ensuring all safety precautions detailed within COSHH regulations and Risk Assessments are understood and observed IAW WMS OP's Section12.

- Ensure tool control procedures are observed IAW WMS OP 502.

- Maintain technical currency and authorisation through the training program and read Technical Dissemination bulletins IAW WMS OP308.

- Assist supervisors in the accounting of all Spray Bay stores, organising issues and returns in liaison with the WMS Support Services Storekeeper IAW WMS OP701.

- Adhere to continuation training requirements IAW WMS OP1102 and maintain assurance of competency IAW WMS OP1107.

- To carry out the duty of opening and securing the Spray Bay (Building 163) at the start and end of the working day and signing for withdrawal and return of keys at RNAS Yeovilton Guardroom IAW WMS OP602, Para 7.2.

- Carry out FOD clearance of Spray Bay surrounding areas as directed.



KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Possess a formal (NVQ, City & Guilds) Surface Finishing qualification at Level 2 or above, or equivalent relevant experience meeting UK SEMAR standards

- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, including COSHH regulations.

- IT Literate, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
