Summary
he Pharmacy Technician will play a key role in supporting medicines optimisation and prescribing safety within the practice. Responsibilities will include supporting medication-related administration and clinical processes, ensuring medicines reconciliation is completed in a timely manner, assisting with repeat prescription systems, and helping to identify and recall patients who require medication monitoring. The postholder will also support the review of prescribing safety alerts, undertake medicines-related searches and audits, and work closely with clinicians and the wider practice team to ensure medicines are managed safely and effectively. They will be expected to communicate professionally with patients and external organisations, including hospitals, care homes, and community pharmacies, and to contribute to service improvement and good governance within the practice. The successful candidate must work within their competence, maintain confidentiality at all times, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
