Summary

Year 4 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting April 2026


This school provides a calm, nurturing and well‑structured learning environment where pupils benefit from supportive staff, clear routines and engaging teaching. Leaders work collaboratively with teachers to uphold high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, confident and motivated. Pupils respond positively to purposeful lessons that promote independence, resilience and steady academic progress across the curriculum.

Duties as Year 4 Teacher:

  • Teach a Year 4 class full time and deliver high‑quality lessons
  • Follow provided planning frameworks where applicable and adapt delivery as needed
  • Support pupils’ progress in literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum subjects
  • Maintain consistent behaviour routines and promote positive learning habits
  • Adapt teaching for mixed abilities and SEND learners
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, offering constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues on planning, assessment and phase‑wide practice
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal Year 4 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong KS2 experience
  • Confident planning, delivering and assessing independently
  • Effective behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Strong communication, organisation and teamwork abilities
  • Able to motivate and support pupils of differing abilities
  • Reflective, proactive and committed to high‑quality teaching
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
