Summary

Precision Rolling & Slitting Setter

Location: Redditch
Pay Rate: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30


  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:00


  • Flexible overtime available after 16:30 or Saturday mornings


    About the Role

    We are partnering with a specialist manufacturing company in Redditch to find a Precision Rolling & Slitting Operator to join their production team.

    This is a hands-on, technical role perfect for candidates who take pride in working with precision metal products. You’ll operate rolling mills, bonding machines, and slitting equipment, ensuring tight-tolerance outputs of the highest quality.

    Full training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop long-term expertise in a niche, specialist industry with clear career progression.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Set up and operate rolling mills and bonding machines to precise tolerances


    • Operate slitting/shearing machines to produce accurate metal strips


    • Measure and calculate lengths and quantities using Excel and mental arithmetic


    • Support wider production activities across the factory


    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace


    • Follow all health & safety procedures rigorously


      Candidate Requirements

      Essential:

      • Calm, patient, and detail-oriented mindset


      • Strong mechanical awareness (assessed during interview)


      • Comfortable using Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience is a bonus


      • Willingness to learn multiple machines and processes


      • Commitment to a long-term role (training lasts 6–12 months)


        Desirable:

        • Previous experience in metal manufacturing, rolling, or slitting


        • Forklift license or full, clean driving license


        • Previous apprenticeship or formal mechanical qualification
