Summary
Owen Payne Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Reach & Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a well-established food manufacturing company located in Wolverhampton, WV5 area.
This role is based within a cold store/freezer environment and combines forklift operation with warehouse coordination duties. The successful candidate will have strong warehouse experience and be confident using computer systems for stock control and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate Reach, Counterbalance, and PPT forklift trucks safely and efficiently
• Work in freezer conditions within a cold store environment
• Load, unload, and move stock accurately and safely
• Manage inventory using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Complete paperwork and update digital systems accurately
• Handle stock control, rotation, and location management
• Support general warehouse and logistics operations
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes
• Conduct basic equipment checks and minor maintenance
• Ensure safe handling and storage of materials
• Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment
• Perform basic calculations for weights, quantities, and measurements
• Communicate effectively with internal teams to meet operational targets
Working Hours
• 12-hour rotating shifts:
• Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm
• Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am
Shift Pattern:
• 2 days on – 1 day off – 2 nights on – 3 days off
• Weekend availability required
Pay Rates
• £16.78 per hour (starting rate)
• £18.15 per hour after successful training
• Overtime available
Requirements
• Valid Reach Truck Licence (essential)
• Valid Counterbalance Licence (essential)
• Minimum 1 year Reach truck experience
• Experience using WMS systems
• Strong computer and data entry skills
• Background in warehouse or food manufacturing
• Comfortable working in cold/freezer environments
• Good written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
