The RoleThis is a high-impact, full-time position for a dedicated Law specialist, starting as soon as possible. The teacher will be responsible for nurturing a critical and evaluative approach in students, encouraging them to question who holds power in the UK's legal institutions. This role isn't just about passing exams; it's about equipping young people with the "powerful knowledge" required to become active, articulate citizens.

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and the wider staff community.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Legal Research: Ability to keep pace with evolving legislation and landmark case law.
- Socratic Questioning: Skill in facilitating deep classroom discussion and debate.
- Analytical Thinking: Breaking down complex statutes into digestible concepts for learners.
- Data Literacy: Using student performance data to tailor teaching strategies.
- Behaviour Management: Creating a calm, focused environment through positive reinforcement.
- Literacy Instruction: Supporting students in mastering complex legal terminology and essay structure.
- Deliver high-quality lessons across the A-level Law curriculum to Year 12 and Year 13.
- Foster a classroom culture of high expectations, integrity, and mutual respect.
- Design and implement rigorous schemes of work that align with the school's knowledge-rich curriculum.
- Utilise data-driven interventions to ensure all students, regardless of background, meet or exceed their targets.
- Prepare students for 100% exam-based assessments through regular mock trials and practice papers.
- Act as a Positive Role Model, demonstrating the school's values of compassion and humility.
- Engage in the wider life of the school, including supervising legal-themed enrichment and trips to Leeds Courts.
- Collaborate with the Social Science team to share best practices and reduce individual planning workloads.
- Provide detailed, constructive feedback to help students reflect on and improve their legal arguments.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, adhering to all safeguarding and behaviour policies.
