Summary

Key Responsibilities: Lead the operational interface between CAMHS community teams and BBF/other Maudsley Charity-funded projects and act as a bridge to promote good communication Anticipate and resolve operational challenges to support a successful outcome for the BBF projects Promote collaboration and information sharing between CAMHS and BBF projects, supporting clinical supervision, training, and multidisciplinary team contributions when appropriate Collaborate with Maudsley Charity and Kings Maudsley Partnership on joint programmes, innovation pilots, and evaluation frameworks. Working closely with SLAM finance to support the management of grants within SLAM to ensure flow of funds to teams and BBF projects when appropriate Provide SLAM-CAMHS and Maudsley Charity senior leadership with high-quality reports, briefings to update on progress over the lifetime of the BBF projects Ensure learning from partnership initiatives is embedded and sustainable. Support strategic planning by identifying successful pilots or elements of, towards the rollout and upscaling of best practice and promote consistency and best practice across the four boroughs. Critically examine and promote the conditions for genuine, transformative collaboration. Promoting timely access and effective safe care in your service areas. Ensure all Trust processes and policies are followed. To manage the daily performance of the clinical services, including quality, patient safety, satisfaction, clinical outcomes and compliance with the clinical pathways and associated protocols are implemented. To contribute to the delivery of work regarding regular and systematic evaluation of care standards via formal audit or other methods, ensuring that any necessary changes are implemented. Use real time data to drive daily operational decisions. To act as a clinical advisor and role model for staff offering assistance and support. Utlise applying problem solving skills where possible and appropriate to profession and supervision structures. To contribute to the implementation of new policies, protocols and practices in relation to new NICE Guidance. To provide demonstrable assurance that the resources available achieve efficiencies, reduction of waste and improvements in clinical quality. To promote the engagement of carers and families in the care pathway. Quality Service delivery and leadership Daily operational management for delivery of high-quality services. To ensure CQC fundamental standards of care are the benchmark for care across the group of services and provide demonstrable assurance that clinical teams are delivering care. To work closely Clinical Service Leads, Head of Quality and Nursing, Deputy Head of Nursing and Quality & Deputy Service Director on all matters pertaining to quality governance and audit, acting as a resource to staff in their group of services on quality and audit issues. To be responsible for daily performance managing the quality of the clinical services for all services in the group including patient safety, patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes and compliance with the clinical pathways and associated protocols To use information and data from a range of sources and work with the Deputy Head of nursing and Quality to use data to support effective practice changes for all services in the group. To ensure effective investigation and monitoring of Patient Safety Investigation outcomes, complaints response and actions and disciplinary issues and ensure adverse outcomes are reported and action taken, Contribute to the production of high quality, timely reports, and action plans to ensure recommendations can be implemented. Provide demonstrable assurance that all staff are receiving constructive performance development reviews (i.e. appraisals) and personal development plans which support the quality improvement of the services they work with, and which include mandatory training and clinical supervision to enable the workforce to be fit for practice. To ensure that the clinical environments are fit for purpose and contribute to necessary interventions with key stakeholders to remedy issues. Ensure services they line manage are aware of the available community assets and VCSEs (Volunteer Community and Social Enterprises) to complement service delivery from the Trust Ensure effective relationships with multi-agency partners relevant to the group of services the role is responsible for. To contribute to a proactive philosophy and culture of health care provision, in which health prevention and promotion is central to the philosophy of care. To have oversight over clinical initiatives and service developments to ensure these are embedded in clinical practice. Ensuring that staff have a clear understanding and opportunity to contribute to the change process To promote a culture of respect for the individuality of patients, and patient choice in treatments. Have oversight of patient safety incidents, complaints, satisfaction, PSIRF responses, clinical outcomes, and care process compliance, be aware of any gaps in practice to improve patient and staff safety. Contribute to the Identification of specific trends at group service level regarding incidents and lessons learnt and participate in implementing support/improvement plans as directed by HoNQ To work in partnership with the Trust Infection Control Team to ensure that the standards of hygiene in clinical areas are monitored and maintained. Workforce and Human Resources To monitor the staffing establishment, supporting timely recruitment and appropriate selection of staff and to ensure that there is an appropriate skill mix within the teams, and which reflects service requirements and safe patient services. Ensure that across the group of services, staff have the appropriate skills and competences and up to date mandatory training ensuring effective support structures are in place for a range of professional registrations and wider staff types Support workforce development across all professions within your service area and ensure fair and transparent recruitment processes are embedded. To robustly follow process and policy in relation to employee relations, performance management, sickness management, and any other human resource formal or informal activities To lead recruitment and retention initiatives, workforce plans, and trajectories for staffing relevant to the service function they are leading Financial Management For the group of services within their responsibility to oversee and effectively manage the budget, ensuring expenditure is managed and providing recovery proposals for reducing overspend. Understand and analyse costs that have been incurred across the group of services, and work with a wider management team to form a view and response. Understand how costs may be managed in the context of varying clinical demands. Contribute to the delivery of Cost Improvement Programmes & financial sustainability in the unit, directorate, and Trust To manage the effective and efficient delivery of service within the resources available whilst maintaining the quality-of-service provision
