Location: Hybrid (Oxford site 2-3 days per week, with occasional travel to Norfolk 1-2 times per month)
G4S Facilities Management is seeking a proactive HR Advisor with a sharp focus on navigating complex Employee Relations. While this is a comprehensive advisory role, your primary impact will be providing expert guidance to line managers on the "people" issues that matter most ranging from high-level disciplinarians and grievances to performance management and long-term sickness cases.
Acting as a trusted partner, you will ensure our human resources are managed effectively and professionally across all operational units, maintaining full compliance with G4S policies at all times
This is a hybrid position and will require the successful candidate to be on site in Oxford for two to three days per week, as well travel to Norfolk sites once or twice a month.
Core responsibilities:
ER Casework Lead: Provide expert guidance and practical expertise to line managers on policy-related issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, and performance management
Professional Investigations: Offer professional advice and support during investigation processes, such as employee complaints, ensuring they are handled in a timely manner.
Absence Management: Proactively manage long-term and frequent short-term sickness cases, including coordinating Occupational Health referrals and Ill Health retirements.
Managerial Coaching: Provide education and coaching to line managers to increase their capability in handling people management issues
Operational Support: Assist with recruitment processes, including interviewing and ensuring compliance with G4S screening and vetting standards.
Data & Insights: Support the collation and analysis of HR information against key performance metrics to ensure HR is clearly "adding value" to the business
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who:
We are looking for a resilient HR professional who can work on their own initiative and build high-quality professional relationships
Development Opportunity: While we are ideally looking for an established Advisor, we will also consider applications from experienced HR Officers who have a strong foundation in ER casework and are looking to step up and develop into an Advisor-level role.
Experience: Likely to have 2–5 years of HR experience.
Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, and selection
Qualifications: CIPD qualified or equivalent
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
