Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone who:

• has relevant experience of working with primary and EYFS aged children and ideally a level 3 or above qualification in childcare.

• Is suitable to work with children. (The post holder must have Enhanced DBS Clearance to carry out this role and be responsible for the promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children s/he is responsible for, or comes into contact with.)

• has a good level of personal presentation, time management skills and attendance.

• has the ability to motivate and inspire children.

• has the enthusiasm to develop their pedagogy and knowledge of teaching and learning.

• has the vision, energy and dedication to ensure outstanding outcomes for all learners.

• builds warm relationships with parents, carers and other professionals.

• will get involved in all aspects of wider school life.

• will nurture every child to flourish and be the best they can be through our well embedded Christian values.

• support pupils and staff effectively, while working as part of a team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To work under the direction of the classroom teacher and SENco (this is a broad duty, which will cover a number of ever-changing tasks).
• Undertake those activities necessary to meet the physical and emotional needs of groups of children. • Support individual pupils and groups of pupils in their learning, particularly in our early years unit.
• Deliver interventions to individuals and groups, reporting back to the class teacher and SENco.
• Support informal and formal assessment procedures.
• Follow and implement school policies and procedures.
• Attend school meetings as required.
• To consider attendance on appropriate courses.
• Supporting the emotional well-being of pupils in the classroom.
• Support pupils with phonics teaching and learning and speaking and listening.
• Accompany teacher and pupils on educational visits.
• To know and apply school policies including Child Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Behaviours etc.

Further Responsibilities

Midday Supervision

Your role will be to ensure pupils are supervised at all times and kept safe and;

• To ensure excellent time keeping and that children are supervised at all times.
• To model good social interaction with the children and excellent table manners.
• To adhere to decisions made by Senior Leaders.
• Support pupils in their eating (promoting a healthy, balanced diet and teaching how to cut food up).
• Create alternative arrangements for wet playtimes in consultation with senior members of staff. General Conduct
• Be respectful in your conduct towards pupils, parents and colleagues at all times.
• Report any concerns relating to safeguarding or conduct to the line manager (failure to do so could result in disciplinary proceedings).
• Adhere to the behaviour policy at all times remaining calm and fair. • To maintain a safe environment for all through cleaning, assessing, reporting. =
