Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Every school has a heartbeat. It’s in the classrooms where children discover new ideas, in the playground where friendships grow, and in the moments when a pupil suddenly realises, they can do something they once thought impossible.
But behind all of those moments is a team of people quietly making it all possible.
At Winton Primary School, we know that the smooth running of our school depends on people who care about the details–the people who organise, support, solve problems and keep things moving so that teachers can teach and children can learn.
We are looking for a Finance and Admin Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is a role at the centre of school life. Some days you’ll be processing invoices and supporting colleagues with budgets. Other days you might be helping organise a school event, responding to enquiries from parents, or making sure the right resources arrive in time for an exciting lesson.
It’sa varied role, a busy role, and an incredibly important one–because the work you do helps create the environment where our children can thrive.
What the role involves
You’ll support the smooth running of both the finance and administrative functions of the school, working closely with the Business Manager, staff and external partners. Your work will include:
Finance
• Processing purchase orders, invoices and bank transactions while maintaining accurate financial records
• Ensuring expenditure is correctly coded and VAT recorded appropriately
• Preparing and issuing sales invoices
• Supporting budget holders with purchasing decisions to ensure best value
• Responding to finance queries and following up on outstanding orders or payments
Administration
• Providing high-quality administrative support across the school
• Managing emails, phone enquiries and occasional reception duties
• Maintaining school databases, records and filing systems
• Supporting the organisation of school events, meetings, trips and enrichment activities, including managing payments
• Assisting with the lettings of school facilities and room bookings
What we’re looking for–someone who:
• Is organised, proactive and enjoys keeping things running smoothly
• Has strong numeracy, literacy and attention to detail
• Communicates clearly and enjoys helping others
• Can juggle a variety of tasks in a busy environment
• Brings positivity, warmth and a sense of humour to the team
