About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join our successful and supportive English department. The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of literature and language while supporting students to achieve their full potential.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to high standards of teaching and learning. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Full-time and part-time applications will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons at KS3 and KS4
• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress
• Contribute to the development of the English curriculum
• Support students of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes
• Participate in departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature (AQA and Eduqas)
• Be committed to delivering engaging and challenging lessons
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
• Be enthusiastic about supporting students’ academic and personal development
• Work collaboratively as part of a team
• Knowledge or willingness to teach Drama at Key Stage 3 / 4.
