Summary
I'm currently supporting an established and forward‑thinking housebuilding organisation that's looking to bring an additional Health & Safety Advisor into the team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on sites, working with operational teams, and helping shape a positive safety culture across a growing regional business.
The Role
You'll take the lead on monthly safety inspections across all active developments, making sure each site is working in line with company policy, legislation and industry best practice. Your role will involve auditing, reporting, supporting close‑out of actions, and providing the site teams with clear, practical guidance.
A big part of the job is relationship building, being visible, approachable, and able to coach site and operational teams on what "good" looks like. You'll also support the senior H&S lead with wider initiatives and projects designed to continually strengthen the organisation's safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out site safety inspections across all live developments
* Audit performance against legislation, policy, and best practice
* Produce clear written reports and support teams in closing out remedial actions
* Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and potential RIDDOR events
* Provide competent H&S advice, coaching and mentoring to site teams
* Support training and development to ensure colleagues understand their responsibilities
* Promote a positive, proactive health & safety culture across the business
* Review Construction Phase Plans where required
* Support wider departmental projects aimed at improving standards and processes
* Ensure effective measures are in place to prevent ill health across the workforce
What's in It for You?
* £45,000 Base salary & a generous car allowance
* Dedicated personal development time and access to learning resources
* Benefits platform with discounted options
* Enhanced sick pay
* Health cover for you and dependants
* 26 days holiday + bank holidays, with the option to buy extra leave
* Competitive pension scheme with enhanced employer contributions
* Life assurance
* Flexible working options
