Summary
The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Uro-Oncology Nurse, at Band 7, to join us to provide support, patient education and advice to patients with Bladder Cancer cancers, from diagnosis, through treatment and follow-up.
This full time role, will be across Chelsea, Sutton and Cavendish Square sites and focusing on patients with Bladder cancers following the surgical pathways. The post holder will be providing nursing support and advice for patients, wards and colleagues. The post holder will have commitments to providing care in both the Private and NHS settings.

• To assist in the provision of professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of the patient under your care, acting as a resource and consultant to provide information and support to patients, carers and staff.
• To liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team to achieve a synchronised specialist service.
• To develop or contribute to the formulation of patient information.
• To develop or contribute to the formulation of policies.
• To provide informal and formal teaching, for patients, staff and carers as relevant e.g. academic courses provided by The School.

• To sustain a high-quality specialist service for the patient, from diagnosis through all stages of the disease. To provide support, education, and counselling advice on treatment related issues with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• To collaborate with Cancer Care teams, both within The Trust and with primary and acute care providers to ensure a streamlined patient-centred care pathway.
• In collaboration with the Lead Nurse, Lead CNS, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, formulate and/or revise relevant policies and guidelines, and to regularly review them following changes/implementation. To always work within the policies and procedures of The Trust.
• To sustain a high-quality specialist service for patients suffering from side effects of cancer treatments.
• To maintain nurse-led and ‘telephone clinics’ whereby patients are provided with information and support, and the problems and needs of patients and their careers are assessed and appropriately channelled and referred to other services as required.
