OverviewWe are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic Primary Support Assistant to work on a supply basis at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Bradford. This role will involve supporting pupils across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as well as providing SEN and 1:1 intervention support to help pupils engage positively with their learning.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners and helping children with additional needs thrive in a classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils within EYFS classrooms to promote engagement and development
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Assist with small group interventions to support learning and development
- Work alongside the class teacher to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs where required
- Encourage pupils' confidence, independence, and participation in classroom activities
- Follow school policies relating to safeguarding and behaviour management
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within EYFS or SEN support
- Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small intervention groups
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- The right to work in the UK
